Phyllis Van Reeth
Board Member/Asst. Treasurer
Phyllis grew up watching the Columbia University rowing team practice on the Hudson River from her grandparents house in upper Manhattan which was directly across the river from the Columbia boathouse. From that experience she always had the dream to learn to row but it wasn’t until she settled permanently in Palm Coast after years of living overseas that the opportunity to fulfil that dream became a reality. While volunteering at the Grace food pantry, she met a former rower with the Palm Coast Rowing Club who encouraged her to come out and try the sport. She fell in love with the sport and the camaraderie that she found with the Club. That was more than 8 years ago and she has not looked back. She encourages anyone with the dream of rowing to come out and participate in the Learn- to-Row program if you are looking for exercise and the chance to enjoy some of the best rowing water in the USA on the ICW.
